About Us

In preparing to prepare to open Depthfinders in late 1996, and had our opening in March of 1997. Our goal has always been to do the best we could with what we have. After surveying several other dive shops and talking to other divers to get their opinions, we came up with a plan. It boiled down to having a well stocked store with a good variety of products. Enough so the shop would look full without being over crowded. Our mission is a simple one: Give our customers the best value for their dollar and treat them like we would want to be treated if we were in their place.

Betty had moved to Florida in the late 70's and settled in the Englewood area. She was brought up the Beloit,Wisconin. For over 20 years now she has been working in administration for a local paving company. She has several interests which include of course scuba diving. she has also been know to enjoy spending time in casinos. Recently she has re-kindled her love for horses.

Terry moved to Osprey in 1985 and has been in Port Charlotte for more than 20 years. Prior to opening Depthfinders, Terry had worked in the retail management field or inventory control for about 25 years. Terry also enjoys visiting casinos and underwater hunting.Both Terry and Betty have been diving since the mid to late 80's and have dove all over Florida and several spots in the Bahamas. Betty has been morre into dive travel. She's been to all the Cayman Islands, Cozumel, St. Martin, Saba, turks and caicos, Curacao and Dominican Republic.
